What is an art commission?
Art commissions are agreements between an artist and a client for the production of a work within the scope of the client's defined stylistic parameters. This can include the dimensions, subject matter, art style, and the media used.
What does the process entail?
For projects under 24"x30", we begin by sending an invoice for a $200 non refundable deposit to cover the essential supplies. After discussing the details outlined above, we will determine what reference material may be required. This may include the artist visiting a location to take reference photos, or for portraits having the client sit for photos and/or sketches. From there, we provide up to three digital concept sketches to give a rough idea of the stylistic direction and composition. Once a design is approved, the painting process takes on average 3-6 months.
Prices
All physical artworks are $3 per square inch (adjusted down) with a minimum starting price of $500. The $200 non-refundable deposit and South Carolina sales tax are included in the prices below.
Oil on stretched cotton canvas or MDF board

Prices for larger pieces will be calculated and negotiated from the $3/sq inch rate.

Digital paintings
$250 with the deposit reduced to $100. This includes a 6000x6000 digital image and one print included up to 11"x14". Prices for larger or additional prints and framing will be negotiated individually
Murals
A $500 non-refundable deposit will be required
indoor projects under 50 sq ft $2,500
outdoor projects under 50 sq ft $3,500
larger scale works will be negotiated.
